In GW2, the "trinity" is boons, DPS and healer; "tanks" only exist in a few specific raids. Also, almost any class can fill almost any role depending on gear and build.
Completing or even speedrunning challenge mode raids, fractals and strike missions, pvp, wvw, farming open world meta events, fashion, achievement hunting, leveling and mastering alts, mount racing, even building your own race tracks in the guild hall. The endgame in Guild Wars 2 feels a lot like a sandbox. GW2 raids are already very light, but still, it is the fact that "specs, rotation, knowing the fight" pays off makes them fun. If the content will be so dumb and easy, that everyone who doesn't know "specs, rotation, knowing the fight" can join in and clear it, it will be as engaging as openworld events. Yeah, the short answer is very exaggerated, I clear raids in full exotics on my alt account with weaver. And raids have been cleared in full greens. Ascended armour isn't needed and the concept stops people from trying out different classes and roles. Right gear, build, memorized rotation, brain, minimum social skills.
