Hello all, First post shame its a problem :confused: My car in question is a Golf Mk5 1.9 TDI (105), BKC. It has recently had a new MAF and EGR. I noticed that the Vacuum hose from the Solenoid valve block to the EGR has a split in it (that explains the amber emissions light on the dash) but when I seal the split in the hose the car instantly idles rough (judders) and shortly after cuts out.
Drive axle. Vehicles with 12-point nut. Tighten 12-point nut to 200 Nm and loosen 1/2 turn . Turn wheel hub 180° . Tighten again with: 50 Nm plus an additional 60°turn. Vehicles with hex. bolt. Tighten hex bolt to 250 Nm plus an additional 1/4turn 90°and then loosen 1/2 turn. Turn wheel hub 180° .
Check that your cam Vernier did not slip or move out of time. Common fault for the 1.9 TDI engines for long cranking and no start problems. Scan the car regardless of no check engine light. Check ignition relay, check fuses. Remove the intercooler pipe going to intake and try starting.
