VW Golf TDi - VW Golf TDI 1.9 Vs 2.0 - any real difference? - unthrottled : My folks have the 1.9 105. It is considerably less refined than the 2.0 CR and the power/torque figures are obviously lower. I would describe the power is 'adequate' rather than peppy. Thus far no DPF problems have emerged.

The most common causes of injector problems are poor maintenance and general wear and tear of the injectors in your vehicle. Pop some protective gloves on and detach the fuel rails and then each injector in turn from the rail. Once the injectors have been removed inspect them for any rust build-up, cracks or damage and replace if necessary.

As mentioned i have a 1.9 TDI (105bhp) BKC engine Mk5 Golf, it feels underpowered, as ive driven several of these mk5 1.9 tdi's and i know what sort of power it has. Though the turbo does kick in, it doesnt feel quiet enough. When the car is driven to around 60-70mph, it normally goes into limp mode. Sometimes it can happen before reaching 60

Hello all, First post shame its a problem  My car in question is a Golf Mk5 1.9 TDI (105), BKC. It has recently had a new MAF and EGR. I noticed that the Vacuum hose from the Solenoid valve block to the EGR has a split in it (that explains the amber emissions light on the dash) but when I seal the split in the hose the car instantly idles rough (judders) and shortly after cuts out.

The turbo on the 105PS PD TDI engine is very prone to failure but not at that mileage, the first thing I would do is plug it into my diagnostic system to see if it has the facility called "EDC mileage" Ross-Tech: VCDS Tour: EDC-15-16 Mileage and make sure there is not some naughty business going on.
TDI. 2004 Platinum Gray GLS Jetta / 2006 Silver Jetta with DSG. Oct 15, 2011. #5. Cam Problems. Remove hose from turbo pipe to egr. If you hear the sound of popcorn popping at idle then you have a bad cam. Was told this by a service manager. Also increase above idle.

Golf 5 Gear lever stiff, not springing back to centre resting point. I have a Golf Mk5 TDI S estate (aka Variant) with 5 speed gearbox, 110,000 on the clock. No problems until recently, when gearbox became stiff and very difficult to change gears. Selecting 1st is a problem, the lever does not want to find the slot, 1st to 2nd is ok, it's just

Check that your cam Vernier did not slip or move out of time. Common fault for the 1.9 TDI engines for long cranking and no start problems. Scan the car regardless of no check engine light. Check ignition relay, check fuses. Remove the intercooler pipe going to intake and try starting.
