I bought this grip to mount my Canon 5D Mark II onto. When I first received my package and unwrapped the grip, I felt that there was no way this lightweight grip would be able to handle my 5Dii. Once I mounted everything together along with a 16-35L and a 580EX Speedlite, I was surprised that this grip held its own very well. Again, note the cushier eyepiece of the Canon 5D Mark IV (right). The 5D Mark IV sits up higher than the 6D Mark II. It’s also a bit wider. But the 6D Mark II offers just as much grip depth – though the grip area itself is narrower. Folks with smaller hands will like the form factor of the 6D Mark II for sure.
